What do I need to show for a lockout?
Something that ties you to the address: ID with the address, a lease, a piece of mail, or a neighbor or super who can vouch. The locksmith checks before opening any door.
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
If the lock body is in good shape, a rekey changes the pins so the old keys no longer turn the cylinder and you get a fresh set. If the hardware is worn, sticking, or outdated, replacement makes more sense. The locksmith looks at the lock and lays out both before any work starts.
